Letter written on 2 April 1703 from a place named Hofen, in southern Germany or northern Switzerland near Lake Constance. The letter is addressed to Herr Pater Groskeller (title for a monk responsible for financial matters at a cloister or an abbey), from an unidentified individual (the signature on the letter is illegible) who works for him. The letter concerns financial matters and vineyards, including a request by Jacob Burger und Beckh of Buchhorn for renegotiation of annual payment or tribute owed on a vineyard crop, and another matter concerning a pastor in Hagnau. Buchhorn and Hagnau are both in southern Germany near Lake Constance.
